This week Tom and Kelly spoke about the Lordship of Jesus.

Philippians 2:5-6 (NIV)

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage.

Jesus didn’t even try to take control of his own life. He went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray that God's will would become his will (Matthew 26:36-44)

Isaiah 49:16 (AMPC)

Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of my hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before me.

Does this scripture give you comfort when you think about giving over certain areas of your life to Jesus Lordship?

Luke 6:46-49 (TPT) What good does it do for you to say I am your Lord and Master if you don’t put into practice what I teach you? Let me describe the one who truly follows me and does what I say: He is like a man who chooses the right place to build a house and then lays a deep and secure foundation. When the storms and floods rage against that house, it continues to stand strong and unshaken through the tempest, for he built wisely on the right foundation. But the one who has heard my teaching and does not obey is like a man who builds a house without laying any foundation at all: When the storms and floods rage against that house, it will immediately collapse and become a total loss. Which of these two builders will you be?

What specific areas of your life have you built the right foundation and seen how that has helped you withstand the storms in life?

Matthew 16:24 (AMPC) Then Jesus said to his disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and Follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also]

What specific areas of your life do not conform to the example that Jesus set and what he teaches in the bible?

As Tom reminded us, God is already in control, we just need to recognize it.

As a result of this lesson, How will your week look different then last week?
