Leadership Training For Christ

It's time to sign up for Leadership Training for Christ! This year, the Convention is at the Hilton Charlotte Center City on Easter Weekend, April 6-7, 2007. The theme is Unstoppable from Acts 5:38, 39 & 42. Sign up for one or more events held throughout the year. Registration for all events due by September 10.

The $40 registration fee will be waived provided you complete the events you register for. If you sign-up for an event but do not complete the event, you will be asked to reimburse North Raleigh for a portion of your registration fee, depending upon the portion of events you do not complete.

Rooms for Convention at the Hilton are $100 per night. If staying over night at Convention, a $100 hotel deposit is due when registering and is non-refundable after February 15, 2007.

Challenge Events

Challenge Events are done during the year, before Convention, either at Church or at home. These are evaluated here at NRCOC and the results are submitted to the Convention Coordinator by the deadline of March 1, 2007. You do not need to attend Convention to participate in any of these events.

Daily Devotional

Read the Bible according to a set plan. Spend time in prayer each day and keep a journal of things you pray about.

Leadership

Lead a group of students in their training for Convention.

Reading

Read the Bible aloud to groups of people at Church.

Scripture

Memorize verses of the Bible and recite to an evaluator.

Service

Participate in various service projects.

Teaching

Teach or help in a classroom of smaller children.

PreConvention Events

Like Challenge Events, Pre-Convention Events are completed during the year, before Convention, either at Church or at home. Once complete, they are sent to the Convention Coordinator for the event by the deadline of March 1, 2007, and evaluated. They are then put on display during convention. You do not need to attend Convention to particupate in any of these events.

Children's Book

Write a children's story that reflects the current year's theme.

Poetry

Write a poem whose content reflects the current year's theme.

Song Writing

Write an original a cappella composition, with melody and lyrics.

Video Drama

Create a video of a bible story which reflects the current year's theme.

Web Design

Create a web site which reflects the current year's theme.

Convention Events

Convention Events are rehearsed during the year, prior to Convention. They are then demonstrated at Convention which is on Easter Weekend, April 6-7, 2007 and evaluated. You must attend Convention to participate in any of these events.

Art

Create a photograph, painting, drawing, or greeting card related to the current year's theme.

Bible Bowl

Join a team that answers questions based on the scripture selection for the year. Acts is the selection for 2007.

Bible Reading

Read the Bible in front of a group at Convention.

Chorus

Sing as part of a chorus in front of a group at Convention.

Drama

Act out a dramatic play in front of a group at Convention.

Puppets

Peform in a puppet play.

Song Leading

Lead singing in front of a group at Convention.

Speech

Give a speach in front of a group at Convention.
